Obituary for Shirley Ann "Skip" McCall (Stoneking)
Shirley Ann “Skip” McCall, 83, of Temple died at her residence Sunday, January 1, 2012.
Graveside services for family will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Walker’s Creek Cemetery in Cameron, Texas with Rev. Ed Dowell and Rev. Wilburn Burns officiating.
Memorial/Celebration service will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Trinity Church in Temple, Texas with Rev. Ed Dowell officiating.
Mrs. McCall was born in Holstein, Iowa to Harry Stoneking and Edna Fellom Stoneking on September 19, 1928. She graduated from Holstein High School in Holstein, Iowa in 1946. She graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa in 1950 where she received her RN. She married C.D. “Mac” McCall on April 21, 1956 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She and her family moved to Temple, Texas in 1964. She worked as a RN at the Temple V.A. Hospital operating room until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Trinity Church of Temple, Texas for over 35 years.
Mrs. McCall is survived by a daughter, Kerry Ann Holloway of Temple, Texas; two sons, Scott Alan McCall of Temple, Texas and David Michael McCall of Rosenberg, Texas; one sister, Marilyn Marie Ryan of Frisco, Texas; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Eleanor Stoneking, brother Francis Harry Stoneking and her husband of 44 years, C.D.”Mac” McCall on December 6, 2000.
Visitation will be 6 – 8 P.M. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple, Texas.
