Obituary

Albert Dewey Clark Sr., age 80, of Temple passed from this life on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at a local hospital. Born on the 14th day of July 1939 in Laredo, Texas he was the son of Henry and Irene (Vargas) Clark.
Albert grew up in Laredo. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he would serve his country proudly. Albert served 2 tours in Vietnam as an infantryman; while in the Army Albert received numerous decorations, citations and campaign ribbons including the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars just to name a few. He would spend a total of 28 years in the military both active and National Guard. Albert was a man of great love for his country and unmatched love for his family. Albert and his wife Mandi brought a son and a daughter into this world. Albert was a wonderful father to his children and the love that he held for them will be his lasting legacy. His children to him were always his “babies”. With his health deteriorating he has been a resident of William R. Courtney State Veterans Home for the past 4 years; he will be very missed by his family and the other residents and staff of the veteran’s home. He has been a resident of Temple for over 43 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Irene.
Albert leaves behind his wife Mandi, son Bert Clark and daughter Melissa Fox and husband Ron all of Temple as well as 2 brothers, 1 sister, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 10:00am.
Due to international circumstances, we are asking that attendees continue to practice social distancing.
Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with all the arrangements.
