Betty Rose Wallander Stockburger passed away on June 3, 2020 at the home of her son Wayne Stockburger in Troy, TX at the age of 90 years. Betty was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Margaret Wallander, her brothers David Wallander and Robert Wallander, her husband of 55 years Earl Stockburger and one son Mark Stockburger.

Betty was born on 3 March 1930 in Bell, California. She graduated from Bell High School in December 1949 and attended Southern California Bible College for where she was introduced by mail to Earl Stockburger (1928-2009) who was serving on board the U.S. Nicholas off the coast of Korea. She married Earl in 1954. Together they had 4 children.

Betty was an avid reader enjoying literature, bible, historic fiction, and a was a firm believer that a good life required a piece of chocolate every day. She enjoyed daily walks and walked every trail in Temple each summer that last ten years of her life. She was a member of Bethel Church of the Assemblies of God.

Betty is survived by one sister Mary Roth of San Marcos, California and three of her children. Wayne Stockburger and his wife Charlotte of Troy, TX; Juanita Harris of Vista, California; Lloyd Stockburger and his wife Joy of Commerce City, Colorado; a daughter-in-law: Judy Stockburger of Orange Park, Florida; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held later at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Hewett- Arney is entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 1023, Belton, TX 76502- Betty Stockburger Memorial.
