Cecil W. Moore, affectionately known as Dutch, son of the late Cecil L. Moore and Faye Mosella Moore passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2019 at the VA Hospital in Temple, Texas. Cecil was born on May 11, 1946 in Austin, Texas. He attended Austin public school in Austin, Texas and Bishop College in Dallas, Texas.

At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Austin, Texas.

He was married and later divorced from Shirley Weaver. During his union they were blessed with one daughter, Kino E. Moore of Middletown, Connecticut.

Cecil was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and he was a veteran of the United States Army.

His life will forever be cherished by his daughter Kino Moore and son-in-law Raymond Monteiro of Middletown, CT as well as cousins Eva Lindsey, Mary Margaret Lindsey, Patricia Lee and Alyce Ebba. He also leaves lifelong friend Vonnye Rice Gardner, special friend Linda Jann Lewis, and family friends Cheryl Alexander, Tonya Guillory Johnson, Joyce Guillory and Fred McAfee.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11 o’clock a.m. at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harlan Haines of the First Baptist Church in Troy officiating.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
