Obituary

Donald “Don” Aiken of Temple, Texas passed from this life in the afternoon hours of Tuesday March 24, 2020 in a local hospital. He was 83.
Donald was born on April 23, 1936 to Verlin and Gladys (Bowman) Aiken in Elk City Kansas. He was one of four children and graduated from Arvada High School in Colorado. It was also in Colorado that he was married to the love of his life, Dorothy Jane Bush on June 26, 1958. The couple spent the next 61 years together raising their four sons and eventually settling in Temple Texas.
Donald was a genuine “Mr. Fix it” and loved to help anyone and everyone. He worked both at Rockwell industries in Belton, Texas and retired from American Rockwell in Nolanville as a maintenance supervisor. When not working, Mr. Aiken enjoyed boating and water-skiing. Don was a wonderful man and will be missed by all who got the pleasure of knowing him.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents Verlin & Gladys.
Donald leaves many behind to cherish his memory, including his beloved wife Dorothy Jane, four sons; Dane Aiken of Austin, Kevin Aiken of Temple, Shawn Aiken of San Marcos & Gregg Aiken of Austin. Donald also leaves behind his three siblings; Duane Aiken of Denver, CO, Olga Fagerstone of Loveland, CO, and Budd Aiken of Temple, TX, as well as two grandsons; Aaron Aiken of Austin & Ryan Aiken of Las Vegas, NV.
Private services for Mr. Aiken will take place at a later date.
Hewett-Arney Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
