Obituary

Donald “Don” William Mocksfield, age 90, of Temple passed from this life during the early morning hours of Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas. Born on the 8th day of January 1930 in Essex County, New Jersey, Don was the son of Emil William and Helen (Senning) Mocksfield.

Don graduated from East Orange High School in 1948 and from Rutgers University in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army for two years (1952-1954) as a member of the Counter Intelligence Corps, primarily in Jackson, Mississippi where he met his future wife, Anna Maxine Moore. Following his discharge from the Army, he began working in the Oil & Gas Industry. He worked as a landman for thirty years, primarily, for Tenneco Oil. Following retirement in 1993, Don and Maxine moved to Temple, Texas. They were married for 65 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother and sister.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maxine; son, Dick Mocksfield and wife, Tina, of Midland, Texas; daughter, Linda Mocksfield Hayward and husband, Jeff, of Argyle, Texas; grandchildren: Megan Mocksfield Stack (Marcus), John and Lane Mocksfield, Nathan Hayward and Emily Hayward Zakraysek (Chris); great-grandchildren: Truman, Macie, and Sage Stack and Journey Mocksfield; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
