Obituary

Gary R. McIntosh, most affectionately known as “Gamps” by those whom he loved the most, of Copperas Cove passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at his residence. He was 70 years old. Born on the 3rd day of February 1950 in Irvine, KY he was the son of Thomas and Blanch McIntosh.

Gary married Sharon McGrew on June 21, 1969 in Dayton, OH. The newlywed couple would set out to raise a family and build a home together that would eventually include 3 sons and 1 daughter. Gary was a skilled craftsman and loved working in his shop known as “The Dungeon Woodshop”. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors very much. “Gamps turned his entire yard into a garden and was know in Cove as that house with the garden in the front yard. Most of all he loved to cook, and Sunday dinner at Gamps’ house was always great. He will truly be missed”. Gary was a retired veteran of the United States Army and has been a resident of Copperas Cove for the past 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Blanch as well as 2 of his sons Gary Jr. and Kevin Wayne McIntosh.

Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Sharon, his son Lester McIntosh, daughter Tonya Wiginton and husband Elton and his 3 grandson’s Robert, Orion and Christopher.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic services will be held at a later date.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
