On Monday, September 16, 2019, Gloria Lasly, loving mother, peacefully passed away at the age of 71 in Temple, Texas. Gloria was born on February 14, 1948 in Belfalls, Texas to Albert and Katherine Elizabeth (Permenter) Prince. On July 1, 1966, she married Curtis Lasly in Bell County Texas. Together they raised three daughters, Cheryl, Sharon, and Christy. Curtis and Gloria enjoyed 33 wonderful years together before his passing in 2000.
Gloria was a kind woman with a givers heart. She always put others first and was well known for feeding anyone who was hungry, whether it was a child in need or a stray animal. Children especially had a special place in her heart, and she would always do her best to ensure as many as possible had school supplies and Christmas presents.
When not caring for those around her, Gloria would collect aluminum cans and buy lotto tickets at Poole’s, where she was lovingly referred to as “momma”.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Curtis, daughter Christy, parents Albert and Katherine Elizabeth Prince, as well as her brothers Odell and Leonard Prince. She is survived and cherished by her two daughters Sharon Thomas (Anthony) of Temple, Cheryl Kozeny (Bill) of Troy, her brother Wayne Prince of Houston, her brother Ellis Prince of Troy, her sister Melba Parker of Lott, her sister Carolyn May of Durango, sister Mary Morris of Troy, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren (with another on the way.)
A graveside service is planned for Wednesday September 18, 2019 at 10:00am at The Roberts Cemetery in Troy, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to the Troy Blue Santa Program.
Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
