Hilda Jezek, age 95, of Durango passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Golden Years Nursing Home in Marlin, TX. Hilda passed from this life surrounded by loving family and friends. Born on the 23rd day of October 1925 in Taylor, TX, Hilda was the daughter of Anton Sirny and Hilda Motl.
Hilda has been a resident in the fall’s county area for two years but has lived in Temple for most of her life. On May 31, 1948 Hilda married the love of her life Robert Adolph Jezek and the couple would go on to have six daughters as well as one son. Hilda was a crafty lady who loved sewing, gardening, and canning every chance she got. She loved to BBQ and go to Turkey shoots. Hilda was mostly known for her homemade bread and her outstanding cooking. Hilda will be missed dearly by friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her one son Robert Jezek, a granddaughter Dana Chevre, five brothers, and one sister.
Hilda leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Robert Jezek of Durango, six daughters, Jeannie & Robert Broughton of Durango, Betty and Thomas Krcha of Cyclone, Eve Mayes of Temple, Debra & Michael Chevre of Durango, Teresa & Kenneth Malcik of Temple, Willie & Pedro Henslee of Durango, fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Seaton Cemetery in Seaton on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 10 o’clock am with Pastor John Michalak officiating. The family will be excepting visitors at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 6-8pm.
