Obituary

James “Jim” Phillip Eubanks, age 71, of Troy passed from this life during the mid-afternoon hours of Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on the 3rd day of November 1948 in Bakersfield, CA to parents Roy and Nina (Watkins) Eubanks.

Jim grew up in Bakersfield and lived most of his life there before retiring and living in Oregon for some years. He made a long career for himself as a Senior Piping Construction Engineer. He met the love of his life, Brenda Wadley, in Bakersfield, CA and the couple were married on April 17, 1970 and from there they would set out to build a home and a family together.

Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Army and he was a faithful Apostolic, Pentecostal, Christian who knew of his eternal reward in heaven when his time here on earth was complete. He loved to fish and be outdoors but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones. Jim and Brenda moved to Troy in September of 2019 following their grandson who moved here from California after a vacation in Waco.

Jim is a member of the Temple Christian Center; the love that Jim has for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is an unwavering love and devotion that he is now getting to experience firsthand. The pain he felt on earth has now been washed away and he is enjoying eternity in the mansion God has constructed just for him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and all but two of his siblings.

Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Brenda Eubanks of Troy, son Brian Eubanks and wife Deanna of Visalia, Ca., daughter Teresa Reynolds and husband Todd of Moreno Valley, Ca. and his 5 grandchildren Kevin and Krista Reynolds as well as Kyle, Kaitlyn and Kaleb Eubanks. He also leaves behind 3 of his sisters, Julia Short of Bakersfield, Ca., Linda Kent and Mary Sitzlar both of Tennessee.

A funeral service will be held at Temple Christian Center in Temple on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 11 o’clock a.m. with Pastor Kerry Sharp officiating. The family will be excepting visitors one hour prior to the service. The burial will be held at 2 o’clock p.m. the same day at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
