Obituary

Jimmy Lee Ivey, age 48, of Temple passed from this life during the early morning hours of Sunday, January 26, 2020 at a local care facility. Born on the 12th day of December 1971 in Temple he was the son of Jimmy Dell and Bobby Jean (Smith) Ivey.

Jimmy grew up in Holland. He was a true outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and fish as well as use his metal detector to find hidden treasures and BBQ for his friends and family. Jimmy loved spending time with his wife Becky and their children. Becky and Jimmy were married on October 15, 2015 in Bartlett, together they have built a life and a home. One thing that Jimmy loved to do was drive a big truck. He was a truck driver for many years and most recently drove for R.T. Schneider before retiring in 2015 due to his health. Jimmy also loved to talk politics with anyone that would listen to him. He has been a resident of Temple for the past 2 years.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Becky Ivey, son Edward Lynn Pennington, son James Riley Pennington and son Patrick Lynndell Ivey all of Temple as well as his daughter Kasey Freudenberg and daughter Amber Wilkinson both of Florida. He also leaves behind his father Jimmy Dell Ivey of Holland, mother Bobby Jean Johnson of Temple and brother Jeffrey Ivey of Granger.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
