Obituary

Karen Lynette Calloway, age 70, from Temple passed from this life during the evening hours of Sunday, July 26, 2020 at her home with her loving husband holding her in his arms. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas on the 20th day of January 1950 she was the daughter of Ralph and Sylvia (Vann) Fuller.

As a young child Karen grew up in Corpus Christi but at the age of 19 she moved out west to California. It was in California that life would eventually lead her to Steve Calloway; the two would be married in Agoura Hills, Ca. on Sept. 15, 1984. They would spend the next 36 years together building a life and a home. In 2004 Karen and Steve moved to Wisconsin to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the 4 individual seasons of the year. After 11 years they would again relocate but this time to Temple to enjoy a more mild climate. Upon arrival in Temple Karen and Steve found a church family at the Taylors Valley Baptist Church. Karen enjoyed singing in the choir and making new friends in the area. Her outgoing personality was a surety that she never met a stranger. She loved to find treasures at garage and estate sales and even opened up her own booth at an antique shop in Belton, selling the treasures she found for others to enjoy as much as she did. Karen was a faithful Christian and was very much aware of her eternal reward in heaven when her time here was complete. The love and compassion she showed towards her friends and family will be the lasting legacy that she leaves for years to come.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Karen leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband Steve of Temple, 1 step-son Sean of San Pedro, Ca. and 1 grandson Michael. She also leaves behind numerous church family and friends as well as her cherished cat Angie.

A memorial service for Karen will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 1:00pm at Taylors Valley Baptist Church in Temple with Pastor Jared Burt officiating. The service time is still pending at this time.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
