Obituary

Rene “Paul” Saul Madrigal, age 69, of Temple passed from this life on Monday, July 6, 2020 at his residence in Temple. Born on the 30th day of June 1951 in Temple he was the son of Saul and Lucila (Montemayor) Madrigal.

Paul was a graduate of Temple High School. He served his country proudly having been enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for two years in the early 1970s. Paul has been a lifelong resident of Temple and a dedicated Wildcat fan. He loved helping those less fortunate than himself and spent a lot of his time helping many area food bank organizations. Paul was a huge basketball fan as well as an avid Redskins fan. He loved to read comic books and any other books he could get his hands on. He spent most of his life working in construction.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents Saul and Lucila, a sister Cynthia Ann Hosea, brother John Anthony Madrigal and grandparents Sara and Adolfo Trevino.

Paul will be greatly missed by his eight siblings, sisters Claudia and Louis Garza of La Porte as well as Paula and Jaime Holguin, Mary and Curt Newbury, Marta and Brian Reid, Marguerita Marks and husband Harold Bishop, and his brothers Richard Madrigal, Russell and Laurie Madrigal, and Robert Paul Madrigal all of Dallas. Paul is also survived by his aunt Marcella and her husband Phillip Beverly of Alabama. He will also be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Hewett- Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
