Obituary

Ruby Louise Guinn, age 69, of Belton passed from this life during the early morning hours of Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her home. Born on the 15th day of November 1950 in Canton, Texas she was the daughter of William and Lenora (Skinner) Taylor.

Ruby grew up in Lindale, Texas. She married the love of her life, Webster Lee Guinn Jr when she was barely in her 20’s. The couple built a home and a family together until Webster’s passing in 1996 after 25 years of marriage. Ruby loved her family and her children; they were the light of her life. She also volunteered for the special Olympics for over 40 years and she worked for Academy ISD for over 20 years with special need students. She loved the kids she worked with in school just as if they were her own. She loved animals of all kinds especially the dogs and cats that would wonder up to her house. Ruby also had a fondness for telling people her opinions on matters and would keep telling you until you saw it her way; some would say she could have argued with a fence post. She was a kind and decent soul that loved with everything she had. She was a giver that had compassion for others and always wanted to know that you were taken care of. She has been a resident of Belton for 23 years and in Central Texas for over 50 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Webster L. Guinn Jr., her parents, her two brothers James Perry Moore and William “Bill” Sherman Taylor and one sister Mary Moore.

Ruby leaves behind to cherish her memory her two sons Tommy and James Gilpin, and one daughter Michelle Guinn all of Belton. She leaves one sister Ruth Allen, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
